Getting to Vail
Vail is located in the central Rocky Mountains of Colorado, just 100 miles west of Denver and just 35 miles east of Eagle.
Driving:
Take I-70, a scenic and direct route into Vail from just about anywhere! Once in Vail, follow the signage to the Main Vail Exit (176), where festival venues, lodging, parking and access to the mountain can be found. East and West Vail can also be easily accessed by exits (180 and 173) just before and after the Main Vail Exit.

The top free parking locations in Vail:
North Frontage Road by the West Vail Mall – 70 spaces (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
East Vail Interchange at E. Vail Exit off I-70 near Bighorn Rd – 12 spaces
North Trail Trailhead off of North Frontage Road W – 6 spaces
Spraddle Creek Trailhead off of Spraddle Creek Road – 18 spaces
Red Sandstone Park – 700 North Frontage Road – 15 spaces
Donovan Free Park Lot – 90 spaces
An additional 90 spaces are available at Donovan Park, 1600 South Frontage Rd., from 7am to 11pm on days when the Donovan Pavilion is not in use. A sign will be posted at the entrance to indicate availability.
The parking area will be serviced by the Matterhorn bus stop and the West Vail Red transit line services this bus stop to the LionsHead base area and serives varies from 15 minutes during peak periods and 1 hour on non-peak periods.
Valet Parking Options
Mountain Valet, Inc. The pioneers of skier valet parking offer the closest, most convenient public parking available. Located at Golden Peak with easy access to Riva Bahn Express Lift #6, Ski School, and DEVO. Make your on-line reservations at: http://www.mountainvalet.net. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance or parking can be purchased on site. Supply is limited, reservations recommended. For additional information: 970-926-8901.
The Arrabelle at Vail Square in Lionshead, http://arrabelle.rockresorts.com, offers limited on site parking steps from the Eagle Bahn Gondola.
The Lodge at Vail, http://lodgeatvail.rockresorts.com, has a special offering all day parking at the foot of the vista Bahn in Vail Village with purchase of breakfast or lunch. (Price TBD)
The Vail Cascade provides easy access to the mountain and no long lift lines with their on-site chair lift, Chair 20 Cascade Village Lift. Vail Resort also operates a ticket office right next to the lift for added convenience. http://www.vailcascade.com

Public Transportation
Vail has the largest free shuttle system in the country. Town of Vail busses run regularly between the eastern end of Vail Village and the western end of LionsHead. Scheduled buses to East Vail and West Vail run frequently as well. For information, call (970)479-2358.
